The Brussels-Capital Region, capital of Europe and also capital of the federal State, has chosen to acquire its own digital domain: .brussels.
When you are .brussels, you acknowledge your sense of belonging to Brussels and convey your pride of living and working in Brussels. When you – as a company or as an individual - choose for a .brussels web address, you match your digital identity with your physical location, in reference to your workplace or living environment, and also make yourself readily available on the web.

My favourite Brussels expression? Potverdekke!
My mark out of ten and my wish for my city? 10 out of 10 and my wish is that Brussels will implement major architectural and town-planning projects.
Why am I proud to be from Brussels? Because Brussels is the city of surrealism at its very best!
The object which best symbolises Brussels? The Manneken Pis bottle opener because problems can always be solved over a fresh pint of beer ;-) -
Jacques Van den Biggelaar
As ambassador of .brussels, I give Brussels an eight out of ten! I love its Grand-Place and its ‘Îlot Sacré’ (Sacred Isle).
The area around the Atomium, Grand-Place and the Heysel plateau are utterly related to my childhood years. That is where we went to have a drink, support a football team, take a stroll in the Kattenberg, play football, eat honey from the Meli attraction park, taste ginger bread, shoot films for the scouts...
And whether I love Brussels? Non peut-être! (literally translated it means no maybe... but actually it means yes, obviously!) -
Stefan Liberski
I give Brussels 8 out of 10! I love my city because it is a very quiet capital where nothing is being imposed on us. For the next 10 years, I wish that Brussels will pursue a more vigorous cultural policy. I have a special bond with Square Ambiorix. I crossed it on foot for many years on my way to school together with my little sister whom I had to drop off at kindergarten. To lead her, I grabbed the collar button of her coat. We often arrived late. One day, not surprisingly, the button fell off. We both burst out in laughter. My sister could run around freely... at last.

I was born in Schaerbeek and I love Brussels because it is a city that is open to the world. Brussels is very international.
My advice? If you visit Brussels – if only just une fois (once) – do not miss out on the Atomium, Grand-Place and its pedestrian surroundings but above all, the most legendary Brussels figure of all: Manneken Pis. -
Philippe Lhomme
The main challenge for Brussels will be to pull off its urban transformation, integrate new strategic infrastructures whilst maintaining adequate mobility levels. I give Brussels a 9 out of 10 and I wish and hope that Brussels will not get lost in unproductive bickering between linguistic communities: the French-speaking community versus the Flemish, ‘conservative Belgians’ versus ‘progressive Belgians’. And even if you visit Brussels en stoemeling (on the sly), make sure to go and take a look on the roof of Palace 5 at BRUSSELS EXPO!

Linda Van Waesberge
My favourite Brussels expression? Voesj doen (carry on).
The main challenge for Brussels in the years to come? Maintain the charm of the city and improve in order to become a clean, bright and modern city.
My favourite places in Brussels? The small park at Petit Sablon and from a cultural point of view, Bozar. -
Carlo de Pascale
The place in Brussels you should not miss out on? The Horta Museum.
How do I spend my spare time in Brussels? When it’s raining, I’m going out and when it’s not raining, I’m going out as well. And since it’s always raining, I pretend like it’s not raining at all.
The main challenge for Brussels in the years to come? Accept that the good old Brussels as we’ve know it, is definitely a thing of the past. The city should also leave behind its operational logic of ’19 municipalities’ and firmly tackle issues such as population growth, mobility and urban planning. -
Patrick Menache
As ambassador of .brussels, I give Brussels an eight out of ten! I love my city because it is a capital with a small-town feel, cosmopolitan, bilingual and welcoming.
For the next 10 years, I wish that Brussels will become a ‘cleaner’ city and will look after its beautiful façades.
And even you visit Brussels en stoemeling (on the sly), make sure to go and see the amazing Grand-Place! -
Lionel Rigolet
Why am I proud to be from Brussels? Because we are genuine and unpretentious. I am glad to be able to follow in the footsteps of famous Brussels figures such as Victor Horta, Magritte or Jacques Brel.
My favourite Brussels expression? Geneivelist (somebody who loves genever and alcohol).
I give Brussels a befitting 8 and wish that Brussels will keep on developing whilst preserving its human dimension and its hospitality, which differentiate it from other European capitals. -
Charlie Dupont
When I think of Brussels, I say to myself: Brussels is so much cooler than Paris, so much so that sometimes it seems like you’re in New York!
My childhood memories are linked to unforgettable “outings” in town.
Who best symbolises Brussels in my view? The zinneke! Because it draws its strength from its mixed origins, from being a fully-fledged crossbreed, because there is no other dog quite like it and because you catch yourself immediately falling in love with it. -
Alain Berenboom
The place in Brussels you should not miss out on? The Josaphat Park.
My favourite Brussels expression? Snotneus!
The object which best symbolises Brussels? The cobblestone: a mix of solidity and tradition, of beauty and roughness, can also be useful in the event of a revolution!
The place of my childhood? Place des Bienfaiteurs/Weldoenersplein: it is the square where I spent my youth. I love its timeless charm and the trams driving past. I have recreated the atmosphere in many of my novels. -
Laurent Gerbaud
My favourite Brussels expression? Zievereer!
My mark out of ten and my wish for my city? A well-deserved 8 and I wish that Brussels will manage to thrive and prosper, and be financially independent from the other regions!
Why am I proud to be from Brussels? Because we are neither Flemish nor Walloon, we are just ‘Brusseleirs’.
The object which best symbolises Brussels? A chocolate praline ;-), but then of course, I am a master chocolate maker… -
Jotie Boone
Why am I proud to be from Brussels? Because we all together, people of different nationalities, build up a beautiful city.
When I think of Brussels, I think of eclecticism.
My dearest wish for Brussels in the next 10 years? A lot of vision and motivation. -
Jill Boon
I love Brussels because of the overall ambiance, all the different neighbourhoods but first and foremost because of the Brussels locals themselves. Brussels’ greatest successes? The Brussels waffle and its green spaces (parks, forest) and of course, its Grand-Place. My favourite Brussels expression? “Quelle klet ce pei... non peut-être !” (What an idiot, this guy... yes definitely!)
